Amusingly, this reminds me of hearing[from the horses mouth itself: a Comp Sci Professor] about the ongoing 'war' between IT Services and the Computer Science School. It sounded quite alot of fun. On one side, everyone with the permission and legislation to make things work. On the other, everyone with the will and competence to make things work. It all sound intensely amusing...

However, it's annoying not being able to access it. Wonder what the problem is...

Wednesday 26 April - Firewall problem
A problem on the University Firewall disrupted all network connections between St Andrews and the rest of the Internet overnight, affecting access to the Web and email. The connection is now restored, but it will take time before all the problems caused by the disruption are resolved. There will be some delays to email as a result.

Posted on the ITS problems page. Humm, talk about incompetance.

Resnet has been on and off for me today and last night, which is a bit annoying. Seems to be back now and hopefully will stay that way, fingers crossed.

All the first year medics have an exam tmrw, all our resources are on WebCT/Galen, both of which are down. Whilst cramming isnt perfect its better than nothing. I could shoot the IT techs right now!!!
