I know a guy that spends a fortune at tesco every week, purely cos of his dietary needs he says- for going to the gym and stuff.

he will literally buy 30/40 portions of fish (whether in tuna, salmon, or prawn form) added to this he buys cottage-cheese, chicken, steak, porridge oats, dozens of eggs, heaps of potatos and now and again some nuts. his bill is far more than the £120- and then there's all that creatine and stuff he purchases online.

the irony is, he doesn't ever go to the gym, and is totally fat.

I live in hall, and honestly, its very difficult to shop properly when you are feeding yourself for only 2 meals a week, but there is the huge problem of not getting enough nutrition in your diet. For example, tonight I arrived at dinner at a little past 6:10, and the options were all terrible, and so I settled on getting some staple and veg, as I was already there. And they had run out of vegetables, just completely ran out. Needless to say I was pissed and was forced to go to tesco in order to get something to supplement my meal of white rice, so even in hall the costs can really add up. But at the moment, I usually visit each of the supermarkets at least once looking for deals on fruit and veg, and who can beat the cheap loaf and cheese slices you can get from anywhere? This usually adds up to between £10 and £20 a week just to fill in where hall food just doesnt go.

And for the record, I'm a 4th year so I really should know better by now to go join the stupidly long dinner queue at 5:45, when dinner is at 6.
