Firefox can't find the server at www.warehousenorth.co.uk.

If you run a club as good as you run a website you are going to do really well.

Well, if you look at the whois you'll see it was registered by one Al Moyersy of 23 Fife Park only yesterday.

Interesting, interesting. Anyone know whereabouts this actually is and how far out it is (they do offer buses and don't mention 'walking distance' any more...) ?

I'm not convinced that a website is a greater indication of this club's existence than a post on here. Why is no address given? Why no phone number? Why does one part say transport leaves from the Union and another part say it is from the Gateway? Why have Fife Council not heard of any nightclub - save a pretend one for a study project - in St Andrews?

Perhaps the study project was a cunning front to throw off competition from the many club owners and promoters clamouring to get into St Andrews?

I can't help thinking the site may well have been somewhat plagiarised from somewhere else, too... if you look at the source of the page, things like:

look a bit dodgy. Plus, if you look at the ordering thing, it asks, "Have you been to a previous Blacked Out event?"

Either that, or on the remote possibility this site is genuine, it's being run by the people who run Blacked Out.

I understood the people behind Blacked Out had left St Andrews a couple of years ago, which also made me wonder about it, given the address offered from Whois was at Fife Park. But they do appear to be selling tickets from the site, though I haven't tried to get through to the stage of making payment; if they're actually taking money off people and it's not legit, this becomes a rather more serious issue.

Easter Kincaple Farm, just along the road past the Strathtyrum estate. I've been in the place when they were starting to do it up. At the time it was big and echoey. Not seen it since.

I've never heard of a nightclub that will only let you go if you pay them to get you there. And do you have to wait for them to get you back into town as well?

The venue exists.
Seems odd that they've not put ANY contact details on the website, other than an email address.

It's not how I would do it if I were running a legitimate business - I'd list things like the owner's name, the registered company name and number (and VAT number, if applicable).

Let's give them a bit more time before we shoot them down though.

har har - the contact button says "praise us or abuse us". well they asked - you might as well!

Admin edit: Mentioning a persons name, when such naming may cause offense to that person, particularly when it involves rumour, is against the rules and spirit of this site.

Yeah, sorry - the servers haven't updated to reflect the new site registration. As said above, www.warehousestandrews.co.uk works, and the other one should be working asap.

Everything else on the site should be up and running, if you find any teething problems it would be nice to know about them.

It is walking distance, but we don't recommend it because the path is unlit, although the walkway is perfectly usable. Walking time is about 30 minutes, but we provide free buses so it's best to jump on them.

I have no idea what you're on about, Frank.

Any other questions, feel free to post in this thread and I'll answer them when I get a chance. We'll also be creating a facebook group soon which should be easier to update with information.

Its not so bad a walk really. Just longer than the walk from Fife Park to town, and the pavement is separated from the road most of the way.

Ah, the conspiracy theorists are still alive and kicking on the Sinner I see!

In answer to the questions posted since I last replied:

Al: The venue exists, as has been confirmed by other users of the site further down the thread. It is not a club. It is a venue to hold nights/balls/events in, in a similar vein to Kinkell Farm, although it is closer to St Andrews and fitted out to a higher standard (at least we think so!). The transport problem on the website is just a typo, we were thinking of the best place to have buses run from and I think our designer got a bit mixed up when he was making the site.

orudge: You\\\\\\\'re right, it is run by the people who USED to run BlackedOut (there was only ever one event we ran, which was a sell out at the bunker, and then we left St Andrews). The website was goood enough for BlackedOut and we didn\\\\\\\'t think it was worth re-designing it, so we used some of the code from the website. Again, there may be some references to BlackedOut in there but that\\\\\\\'s because the site is still being checked for problems/errors.

David Bean: We are selling tickets through the site (although I don\\\\\\\'t think the ordering system is fully up and running at the moment). There will be a lot of publicity for this event starting this weekend (9th Nov -) and this is just the very first stage, don\\\\\\\'t worry - we do exist and if you buy a ticket for the event, you\\\\\\\'ll be on the guestlist at the door on the night. Also, if you supply your mobile number we\\\\\\\'ll even give you a free drink ass a thank you for registering! (and we won\\\\\\\'t bombard you with texts all the time)

Lid: Not sure who you are, but some people have checked out the venue so I guess you\\\\\\\'re one of them! Please don\\\\\\\'t give away too much information on here regarding the venue, as we\\\\\\\'re going to publicise it in a manner that makes peoplle quite intrigued as to the location and type of venue! Send an e-mail to the website and let us know who you are! - info@warehousenorth.co.uk

Al: Not really sure what your point is here regarding transport. We\\\\\\\'ll let you go to the venue if you pay us to let you in - it\\\\\\\'s pretty standard proceedure for a venue to do this. The buses run on a continuous 10-15 minute run back and from St Andrews centre, so yes, you will have to wait for a bus to get back from the venue, but you could always get a taxi or walk as well - although I don\\\\\\\'t recommend walking as the pathway is unlit, although it\\\\\\\'s perfectly safe roadwise as the path is perfect and away from the roadside. We don\\\\\\\'t allow people to park on site because we don\\\\\\\'t have any car parking available - simple.

Animal: As I\\\\\\\'m sure you\\\\\\\'d appreciate, we\\\\\\\'re in a very early stage of advertising, PR, marketing and website building for the venue. Nothing\\\\\\\'s going to be perfect at the moment, but we\\\\\\\'re slowly getting there. There will be a contact number to phone, but we don\\\\\\\'t want to put a mobile number up as it would be unprofessional and we unsurprisingly don\\\\\\\'t have someone manning the phoneline 24 hours a day at the venue, so we can\\\\\\\'t give that phone number out.

I also don\\\\\\\'t get this \\\\\\\'listing the owner\\\\\\\'s name, the registered company name and number\\\\\\\' etc. I can\\\\\\\'t think or find a single club website that has the owner\\\\\\\'s name on it. As for the rest, it is being worked on, and the details will be available. I don\\\\\\\'t really know why people are so interested in this, and not asking any questions about the actual venue though.

Elz: The opening hours are yet to be finalised, but we\\\\\\\'re predicting it will be open to 2-3am, depending on the licence and event, again in a similar vein to events held at Kinkell Farm.

Message to admin: I\\\\\\\'m not sure how people can register to post on the site, but from looking at the system it seems you need to have a st-andrews university e-mail address. Would it be possible to give out a guest login for us to use to reply to questions faster? Also, please feel free to delete this part of the message before posting it. Thanks

I think this could turn out to be a great idea. Warehouse guru (sorry you don't appear to have stated a name so Guru it is!), is Warehouse in the long-term expected to become a club like venue? You stated that it is not a club but a venue to hold events in, does that mean that there won't be any continuity regarding opening ours and most events won't be open to the general public? A nightclub sounds like a better idea as it is something that St Andrews is missing, however I do understand the critism that this gets from local residents.
