postcards vs email: all incoming students don't have an email address that we have access to.
you would have complained about us spamming your email box.
postcards are a bit different. and personal. it's called marketing. emails are "so overdone".
now you can put that postcard on your wall!!! Seriously, it's so cool, or well, hot.
Now you have your own copy of the "postcard that sent a thousand messageboard posts" like Helen of Troy with ships.

Is this not a Services issue? One would think the SSC a much more logical place for a debate over the cost of postcards for many many reasons.
