1)The tone of much of Donne's poetry might be described as argumentative, but how effective are the individual poems as arguments?

2) F.R Leavis applauded Donne for his 'irresistible rightness of tone'. referring closely to one or two poems examine Donne's 'tone' or tones in the light of this comment.

3) Referring closely to several of Dobbe's poems, expalin how you underdstand the term 'metaphysical poetry', and suggest how far it is, or is not helpful.

4) 'Stand still, and i will read to thee/a Lecture, love, in Love's philosophy' ( 'A Lecture upon the shadow') Do the Songs and sonnets provide a philosophy of love?

take in to considertaion what chris said in his email about replicating lecture notes and not just to present a series of points made in lectures. hope this helps. don't worry i'm just starting aswell. tg

yeah thats the same as me, except i'm actaully working on it, and will start writing later when i've got a clear structure plan. i dunno how ppl can jus sit down and write, if i do that i jus go off on all kinds of bollox tangents and never get anywhere. highlighter pens, a blank sheet and a lot of reading is the only way i can get through an english essay plan. bla bla bla!!!

This coming from a person who thinks "hay guys what is happening on this board" is acceptable English?
