Haven't we all got our knickers in a twist!
For clarification:
1. I did not say that sex should not be pleasurable - only that its prime purpose was procreation.
And Rome agrees - Remember, they are opposed to contraception - and yes, they do want to increase the number of Roman Catholics in the world as well!
2. The Biblical position on sex is that it is to be kept for marriage:
"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." - Genesis 2:24
"And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." - Matthew 19:4-6
"Thou shalt not commit adultery." - Exodus 20:14
"If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days." - Deuteronomy 22:28-29
3. The reason that abortion has become such an issue is that sex is being pursued for the sake of pleasure - outside the Biblical guide-lines. That is, the pursuit of pleasure is being placed over and above the instructions from God.
Hence this quotation, which shows that we are living in the last days:
"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection," - [both to members of the opposite sex or to the unborn] - " trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;" - I Timothy 3:1-4

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil." - Proverbs 3:5-7
"And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life." - I John 5:20
