Apparently, according to the Herald's 7 wonders of the world poster, the Great Wall of China and Stone Henge are not on the list because those that compiled it never visited China or Ancient Britain.

Indeed, Philo of Byzantium made up the list, and - unsurprisingly - it was confined to wonders near to the Mediterranean Sea.

Incidentally, yes, it is a complete myth that the Great Wall can be seen from space, or that any man made object can (other than lights of cities etc at night) but what always made me doubt it even as a child is that it was never specified from where or how far out in space it was alleged to be visible.

Its the kind of lights u get in clubs where anything that is white (materials, teeth etc) glow white, but the light emits a kinda purpley colour and u cant c it, hence 'black light'. its only white things that glow! can b very annoying!

The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached
to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off
("Honey, I'm home. What the....?!")

Sounds like a good idea...

(As for the first post - They're reasonably entertaining whether they're copy and pasted or not, I just don't see any point in trying to deny that they are.)

I imagine the 7 wonders of the ancient world haven't changed.

Also, I'd bet the same for the things about the Atlantic and Pacific oceans and the size of Australia, etc.

Surely though, this only applies to familiar words. I mean if I typed
adstsiirsbhilainsirntataemem you'd have no clue what it was, without seriously working it out.

I'm shocked, I don't recognize it, and I wrote it.

Still, the cynic in me must wonder if you saw it's length and thought "hmmmm... I bet he used the longest English word".

Let me find something shorter, and unusual...

Yeah, one of us has. I don't know which though. Hmmmm... maybe foreign words. Or maybe I should just give up and accept the evidence... as I am lazy, that is what I will do.
