The whole cast of Monty Python, (I know they aren't all dead), then I'd assemble them all and have them perform all my favourite sketches.

Evariste Galois.

one of the most significant group theorists(among other things). He was expelled from school for his actions in the French Revolution and almost hanged for treason afterwards. twice. the second time for comments made at his first aquital party. One suicide attempt later he met a woman (who dumped him), got in a duel over her that he was obviouly going to lose, and in the evening before his death wrote out most of his work.
He was 21. lived fast, died young. I would love to meet him.

Of course, I'd have to kill him first *looks evil*

Boltzmann

Now with 100% more corn

Must be a physicist. I know that's who I'd bring back!
Just to understand Boltzmann dist.?
Damn first year exams!!!!
I need help...especially from someone who knows enough to understand!
But then again everyone has exams and if every physicist is busy with their own, I understand.

Edited: for consideration to Haunted or any other willing physicist.

had another idea- a lot of my favorite authors are sadly elderly, so i'd bring back one of them after they died.

Very selfish of me! :)

Dave Allen (comedian) definitely!

that failing, Willie Macrae...

For those who don't know, he was an SNP activist and anti-nuclear campaigner thought by many to have been shot by MI5 over 20 years ago on his way to Wester Ross from Glasgow. I think we'd all like to know what was going on there...

Stevie Ray Vaughan.

(Just to clarify: we're not talking about zombie-esque reanimation of corpses, right? Because I'm always against that.)

John Lennon - I'd just love to know whether he'd shave off all that hair, swap the specs for contacts and spend the rest of his life wearing awful shirts, shorts, socks and sandals. (Though his outfits needn't always alliterate.)

Also I'd like him to divorce Yoko and write a song entitled 'You, yes you, ruined everything you stupid cow' which I would personally buy, or at least download...
