That is extremely irritating!

Having found H.C.M easily, i then spent the next couple of hours trawling the net for similar mazes. Googling "maze holland" is useless (which i did early on) only to find that googling "maze netherlands" produces exactly what is needed (hit 5) to solve the puzzle.

Discovering H.C.M points to brunei is also frustrating! Having looked up snakewell on the shell website, tried to find the Champion West Oil Field and having no luck only to discover it was the right thing to do is annoying. Especially as that clue would have pointed me to what I had already presumed and had no luck with.

Bah! I think perseverance and some lucky googling are perhaps the keys to winning this!

So... are we thinking of this as something trickless? Since as some of you have said before, cannot understand how can somebody get 19700 points (and curiously it is the only one) and suddenly besides misteriously the rest of people have 4700 or 3700. Even if it has been the first one solving the clue, that's a bit unfair, isn't it?

Whatever those people did, they were cheating. Shell have reset the scores.

If you have 3700, then you have the top score as things currently stand.

It was a bug with their code (they don't seem to be having much success with this are they!). It wasn't stopping you from entering the code once you solved the clue so you could just keep entering it again and again to get 1000 more points each time. They seem to have fixed this now.

Thanks for the ans. Will try to return the favour.

They have sorted out the problem now. Everyone in position 1 has 3700 points.

About bloody time too!

It seems there was some kind of problem with the system. The players who had >3700 have now been reduced to the same as everyone else.

I'd still like to know what happened though... :?

The exceptionally high scores which appeared last night have now disappeared. I wonder whether they were a mistake by Shell, or the result of "inappropriate" activity on the part of the players?

Not sure at all why they were on such ridiculous scores but it was probably some of the slightly to "into it" members of the leaderboard playing the snake drill game again and again...

Oh well, thanks for the help, i searched for that maze last night and the bloody program cdn't find it!

S'all good now tho

Anyway, all of this seems a little bit strange to me, doesn't it. There've been several problems since it started, for example the delay when sending the email with the clues, or the server permanently failing and, therefore, not being able to show the "G boxes" etc... Let's hope that they will fix this for future clues and see how it is going lol.

Maybe they're doing it on purpose...

Maybe it's a conspiracy...

Does anyone know how to do level 15 on the snake well game? I've done it so many times and can't seem to get the last few drops of oil in time!

Henry Cavendish << which was clue 2, was the person who discovered Hydrogen.. 7 from 12 = 5. Hydrogen 5 is a type of hydorgen they are using to power cars or something like that, so going by the other clues.. typed shell hydrogen into google earth and it gave me the filling station
