I take it they're found reasonably far south in England? I've got this image in my head of huge spiders being stopped at Hadrian's Wall by some sort of special patrol, possibly the A Team.

I read something about Jumping Spiders as well. Apparently, they're very curious...
Because the retina is the darkest part of the eye and it moves around, one can sometimes look into the eye of a jumping spider and see it changing color. When it is darkest, you are looking into its retina and the spider is looking straight at you.

Wasps. Its more of a phobia than a fear - completely irrational. If a wasp goes near me I will swing my fists / scream / then tense ever muscle in my body and hyperventilate. I usually injure my self far more in these actions than any wasp ever could.
Phobias are such strange things.

Tired Freudian references aside - your mother played my mighty skin flute like a surf crowned sea nymph trying to rouse Poseidon from his watery slumber!
